blockbongs, our own NFT collection of 4,200 unique assets, is an interactive Web3 application, where the owners can directly engage with their tokens and permanently alter their state on the blockchain.
Beyond Static Images
During the 2020 NFT boom, the market was saturated with static JPEGs. We wanted to challenge this paradigm by engineering a "living" digital asset. Our goal was to create a collection where owners could interact with their tokens and "level them up" directly on the Ethereum blockchain.
Unique Artwork
Users could mint one of 4,200 unique 420x420 pixel-art assets. We developed a generative script to assemble these from multiple attributes, ensuring every token was visually distinct. The algorithm also enforced a rarity distribution, ranging from common to ultra-rare variants.
On-Chain Interaction
In our dApp, the NFT is not just a static image, it is an interactive item. Owners (known as "Blockheads") can "smoke" to level up their bongs!
Powered by a custom Solidity smart contract, the action of smoking triggers a transaction that permanently and irreversibly alters the token's state on the blockchain.
